About the language

Human speech has the power both to unite and to raise barriers between different languages. In the Middle Ages, Latin served as a universal language. In modern times, the idea emerged of creating a completely new language that would be simpler and easier to learn. This was the origin of Esperanto. Its author was the physician L. Zamenhof, who created it in 1887 based on European, especially Romance, languages. Unlike natural languages, however, its grammar is strictly regular and simple. Despite all the advantages of an artificial language, Esperanto has not been adopted by large international organisations. Nevertheless, this language lives: it is the language both of an original literature and of translations of the world's classics, and is the common language of a thriving international cultural community. The number of people who can communicate in Esperanto is estimated to be between hundreds of thousands and millions of speakers.

How this works

Select the languages that you want the translator to work with. Type or paste your text into the upper box and click "translate". The bottom box will immediately show your requested translation which you can then select, copy, and use for your needs. Translator.eu can translate up to 1000 characters of text (medium long text) at a time. If you want to translate a longer text, you will need to divide the translation into several parts. To achieve the highest possible quality of translation, make sure that the text is grammatically correct. Slang expressions, just like texts written in a colloquial language, are generally a problem for online translators. Please don't forget to evaluate the result of your translation, or write your own translation if you think that the translated text is wrong.
